Don't Be a Blotter!
Certainly to go through life experiencing one sickness or other adversity after another can make people feel they have no control over their body or affairs. They can even begin to believe that it is God's will for them to be sick and in trouble and that they must bear this divine decree with good grace.
But Christian Science, or the Science of Christianity, assures each sufferer that he doesn't have to be a blotter—that he doesn't have to go through life soaking up all kinds of evil, such as disease, sickness, pain, accident, and unhappiness, that come his way. Neither does he have to accept the mistaken notion that evil is in accordance with God's will. On the contrary, this Science emphatically declares that it is not God's will or law that His perfect image and likeness, man, be sick, sinful, unhappy, or subject to death.
No evil, according to Christian Science, is a real creation; evil is a belief, or illusion, of the mortal, or carnal, mind, which is opposed to the one perfect, unerring divine Mind, God. Infinite God, Spirit, being wholly good in nature, could not create evil conditions, thoughts, or beliefs. All that the Almighty has made is good and is eternally harmonious. This spiritual fact is recorded in the first chapter of Genesis: "And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good." Gen. 1:31;
