Look Away from Material Evidence
Abram and his nephew Lot, dwelling together, found it advisable to part because both owned so many herds that "the land was not able to bear them."Gen. 13:6;
Lot chose the fertile plain of Jordan for his new home, while Abram remained in Canaan. The account continues, "The Lord said unto Abram, . . . Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: for all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever."
God's command to Abram, "Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art," is applicable to the experience of the student of Christian Science. To him, it could mean: cease considering the evidence of the material senses as real and conclusive, and look deep into spiritual reality as it is revealed in divine Science. Then you enter your God-ordained heritage of good, and find peace, health, harmony, and freedom.
