Great good has come to our family through our understanding of Christian Science, and I wish to give one incident of healing in particular. It was that of witnessing the removal of contagious growths commonly known as plantar warts.

Our eldest son showed me a peculiar growth on his foot. For several days he and I prayed about this as we are taught to do in Christian Science, knowing that God's child is not a material creation but reflects his perfect Maker. The morbid formation soon disappeared.

Some time later while he and his two younger brothers were having a swimming lesson at a large public pool, I was called into the office of the head coach and told that the two younger boys had contracted plantar warts, from which many of the children in the neighborhood were suffering. He stated that these warts were highly contagious and must be burned off or they would spread. The coach was amazed to find, after careful examination, that the eldest boy was free of the warts. The boy and I realized that he was free because he had been healed of that condition a few weeks before through the positive declaration from the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy (p. 412): "The power of Christian Science and divine Love is omnipotent. It is indeed adequate to unclasp the hold and to destroy disease, sin, and death."
