A CHOSEN VESSEL

Margery Macdonald Cantlon

As a chosen vessel
may I do my part
in bringing water
to a desert heart.

As a chosen vessel
may I hold sweet oil
and, pouring, ease
another's toil.

As a chosen vessel,
wrought of gold or wood,
in healing work
O use me, Lord.
