Save the Flowers and the Birds
"Lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone," we read in Song of Solomon. "The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land." S. of Sol. 2:11, 12;
What a joyous time the spring is! Can there be anyone who doesn't love it?
Yet mankind are having a problem retaining, at the same time, the flowers and the singing birds. Technology has helped us have beautiful flowers and bountiful crops, for which we are grateful, but technology has hit a snag because chemicals that destroy the insects also destroy or drive off the birds.
