After many years of looking for a house to buy in the area where my husband is employed, we saw that within the framework of our financial capabilities a house of our own was simply impossible, mainly due to the inflated prices of the property in this area. We finally gave up, thinking that the only answer was to stay in what seemed to us the miserable apartment we had. Then one day I read an article in the Sentinel about a couple in a similar situation. The article showed clearly how they had solved the problem. Until this time I had worked on the situation only halfheartedly and spasmodically. The account inspired me, and I followed the initial steps that the writer had taken—writing down all the things I could think of that made up true home, humbly listening for ideas from divine Mind. I filled many pages with these ideas, and with them came the peace, joy, and assurance that this was indeed where I was dwelling right then. Every day I spent some time contemplating these truths, and when I was faced with some unhappy apartment condition, I would deny it any reality because I knew discord was not going on in the kingdom of heaven, my true home.

A Christian Science practitioner was also working for me all through this period. I became a much happier person and felt better physically. About a month later we were shown a house that we loved, and it was as if we just stood and watched the purchase slip harmoniously and quickly into place. The point was that we stopped trying with the world's ways and means and saw we were already in our real home, the kingdom of heaven.

Many healings have taken place in my family, a few of which I will relate here. My grandmother took up the study of Christian Science when the doctors told her she would die without an operation. She was healed with the help of a Christian Science practitioner and through reading Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. My father was healed of ulcers. I have been healed of a head injury and a crushed thumb. These healings were brought about with the help of a practitioner. We are blessed by Christian Science, which brings to light the kingdom of heaven.
