Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science, and...
Words cannot express my gratitude for Christian Science, and for the many healings I have had. I would like to relate my first healing, which brought me into the study of Christian Science.
I was born and reared in a Protestant home. The Bible was our daily guide. We attended a Presbyterian church and Sunday School. My parents were blessed with a large family and also enough resources to care well for every one of us. When I was very young one of our nursemaids allowed me to drink fresh milk, unpasteurized. I became very ill. The doctor in charge of my care was of the opinion that I was suffering from undulant fever. The best specialists were called in for assistance, but were of no avail.
Time went on. This illness had affected my heart, circulation, liver, nervous system, skin condition. At middle age my body was scarred from surgery and reacted against taking any more medicine. I went to see a new specialist. He was an honest man. He informed me and my family that there was nothing to be done for me. I should stay quiet at home, and make the best of each day.
