Making Right Decisions in Business

Business has long judged and rewarded executives, in no small measure, on the ability to make right decisions. As busy men and women, we are faced with decision-making each hour of our business day. How can we know which course we should take as these occasions arise?

Decision-making takes many forms. In fact, we may not always be immediately aware that we are making decisions. For example, we may critically judge others from a material standpoint. This is a subtle and dangerous way in which the mortal mentality would try to deceive us. Yet as we study daily the teachings of Christian Science, we become more alert to the constant need to make the decision of seeing ourselves and others around us in business from the true, spiritual point of view—as individualized reflections of the omnipotent, omnipresent divine Mind.

The field of today's highly competitive business often appears to be a quagmire of human deceit, selfishness, hate, and greed, in the midst of which decision-making becomes blind and uncertain. But in the light of Christian Science, the very opposite can be the case. There is no greater opportunity to utilize the understanding and guidance of this Science, and to express and build upon the qualities of honesty, intelligence, and love, than in the world of business.
