When I was a young child, Christian Science was introduced into our home. I had a brother who was paralyzed from the waist down. A friend who was a student of Christian Science talked to my mother of Science treatment for him. My mother agreed at once. Shortly after having treatment my brother began to walk and went to work.

After this healing Christian Science was forgotten in our family until after the First World War, when three members of my family passed on with the flu. Again Science was brought into our home. The practitioner saw my need and was lovingly concerned. She began to talk to me about Christian Science healing, and one of the things she mentioned was the ninety-first Psalm (verse 7): "A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall not come nigh thee." As I recall, she explained that errors of false belief would fall by my side and right hand. This met my need immediately, and I was healed.

I am grateful for all the healings our children have received while growing up. Two healings especially stand out. One child was healed of crossed eyes and of having to wear glasses. The other was healed of a wound when she fell on a large rusty spike, which entered her thigh. These healings came through prayer to God and help by a Christian Science practitioner. Later when the children attended high school, our older daughter had perfect attendance for four years, and the younger daughter had perfect attendance four years, minus half a day. This would not have been possible without Christian Science prayer and study.
