After I was married, my wife seemed to be always working and praying for me in Christian Science. Her prayers helped heal me of the effects of work accidents, colds, hay fever, and other ailments. I was really having a ball—no worries—just reading the Bible Lesson from the Christian Science Quarterly and the Christian Science literature.

One day at business my ankle was injured. I was taken to the company's infirmary and told that the ankle was broken at the joint. I asked to be taken home so that this could be worked out in Christian Science. The company officials said I would have to go to the hospital and from there, if I wished, I could go home. At the time, I was in a state of shock and said no more. On arrival at the hospital I was put to bed and seemed to be forgotten. I did not remember anything further until my wife spoke to me in the afternoon. Prayerful treatment was taken up immediately in Christian Science.

The doctor agreed to release me after a cast was put on my leg. We were told I would have the cast on my leg for at least six months and that the joint would always be stiff. This seemed hard to take, as I was very active. The next morning I was taken home by my wife. We were both knowing that God knows nothing of accidents, and we were praying for a Christian Science healing.
