Once again I must express my love for Christian Science and its Discoverer and Founder, Mrs. Eddy. Year by year my realization of the value of this Christianly scientific way of living deepens.

Christian Science came to my husband and me when we were a young couple in a time of great need physically, mentally, and financially. I willingly accepted some Christian Science literature from a friend, who knew nothing of Christian Science but said she had seen a child healed by it and that perhaps it could help me. At once I gained a feeling of hope and comfort as I read. I noticed the repeated mention of the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and felt I must read it. At the time I was not aware of the Christian Science Reading Rooms but upon inquiry found that I could borrow a copy of the textbook from our public library.

I began reading, as much as I was able, and became engrossed in the unique message I found, which gave deep significance, as well as a practical approach to the Bible, with which I had felt I was well acquainted from my childhood. It was like unlocking a great treasure that one had only read about! Now I saw the significance of the title of the Christian Science textbook, as it is truly a key to the Scriptures. We attended a Sunday church service. I discovered the Christian Science Quarterly, which includes the Bible Lesson to be studied each week. This was another adventure for me as I began to gather inspiring ideas from reading. I had become acquainted with a Christian Science practitioner, who gave me guidance and encouragement and answered my many questions with wisdom and patience. She told me of the other writings of Mrs. Eddy and of her biographies, as I was eager to know more.
