No Divided Spirit

In problems of human relationship, conflicts between people can often be traced to conflicting motives. Sometimes a situation becomes so complex that it is difficult to determine where the conflict lies. But any case of human conflict could be resolved if all parties concerned had uppermost in their thought the desire to serve God by expressing His qualities.

When a conflict does occur, efforts to get to the bottom of it, through human probing, discussion, and counseling, often prove futile. All human consciousness includes some error, and unless the error is separated from the truth, there is bound to be confusion. Christian Science shows us how to make the separation.

The error in every situation is not what somebody is doing or should stop doing. It is a false belief about Spirit. The real Spirit of man is God, the infinite Mind, divine Love, perfect Principle. A conflict of thought implies that there can be a divided Spirit. But Spirit, God, is One, indivisible.
