Life Unlimited by Mortality

Why do some individuals seem to age more quickly than others? Is it not because the attributes of age are an accumulation of mortal beliefs rather than the result of time? So, generally accepted problems of age are only the varied manifestations of these beliefs. Dependence on a mortal sense of existence or of body permits general beliefs to manifest the symptoms that appear as old age or malady.

But Christian Science teaches that God, Spirit, has created man spiritual and perfect. Spirit maintains man in His likeness. Mortal beliefs cannot accumulate in a consciousness where these spiritual facts are being recognized and held to. Likewise an accumulation of mortal beliefs can be dispelled when human consciousness is filled with the spiritual facts of eternal Life.

Life, we are taught in Christian Science, is God. Man's life is the conscious expression of God's ever-unfolding being and knowing. God, being Spirit, the life He imparts to His creation, man, is spiritual. So to express Life most fully, one must be conscious of Spirit, not of matter. The degree of clarity with which one sees this truth about himself determines his freedom from the limitations of mortality.
