NATIVITY
The child was heralded by light,
By star unplanned by men's decree;
This harbinger of holiness
A part of prophecy.
The rays led lowly shepherds on,
And Wisemen moved with eager pace
Beyond the shades of transient dark
To find the holy place.
Today a glimmer of the truth,
Faint tracery of inner gold,
Is promise for each shepherd heart—
For wisdom to behold.
