He will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people (Isa. 25:7)

"This mountain" refers to Mount Zion, on which the Hebrew temple stood. "Vail" is an archaic spelling of the modern "veil." Phillips has, "On this mountain he will destroy the veil of sorrow which covers all peoples, and the web which covers every nation."

I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil (Matt. 5:17)
