My mother was healed of heart disease when I was five years old. At that time I was enrolled in a Christian Science Sunday School, which I attended until I was twenty. During those years I had many wonderful proofs of God's care and the healing efficacy of Christian Science.

However, there followed a period when, although I considered myself a Christian Scientist, I certainly did not act like one, especially since I had acquired the smoking and social drinking habits. During this period I married, moved to another state, and had two sons. Then my mother, to whom I was very close, passed on suddenly. This, together with a growing recognition that my marriage was not a happy one, compelled me to turn to a serious study of Christian Science. The desire to join a branch church brought about an instantaneous healing of the smoking and social drinking. From that time on I have found that Christian Science has never failed me when I have honestly, sincerely, and persistently applied its teachings to the problem at hand.

Through prayer alone I was healed of tonsillitis, burns, an internal growth, and, most recently, of migraine from which I had suffered for many years. Some of these healings were accomplished through my own efforts and some with the help of faithful practitioners.
