"WHAT THOU SEEST, WRITE IN A BOOK"
Revelation 1:11
How often evil's vicious deed but gives
intended victim new direction, scope:
denied free speech, he writes a book that lives
far, far beyond the author's pent-up hope!
Domitian banished John to Patmos. There
the need of cherished brethren filled his thought
(not pity for his plight), his constant prayer
for Seven Churches. Aid divine he sought
and so received a vision. Could not speak
the message which, inspired, he longed to preach;
thus was he forced to write in flaming Greek
immortal words that would have worldwide reach.
To bless mankind, so Revelation came:
its author, "son of thunder"—right the name!
