Are We Ready to Entertain Angels?
Would you be surprised if a friend or acquaintance said to you, "I am feeling especially joyful today, for I had visit from an angel this morning"? What would be your reaction? Just what does the word "angel" mean to you?
How many different answers one would get to that last question! The Christian frequently thinks of the angels that announced the birth of Christ Jesus or of the angels in the book of Revelation. Many people are familiar with the pictures of angels depicted in art with human form and wings. Those who do not believe in the Bible teachings still see the beauty and inspiration of these pictures. They usually know that the winged creatures are symbolic.
Perhaps someone may say, "Angels were all very well in Bible times, but wouldn't they be out of place in the modern world?" This question would show decided lack of understanding of what angels really are. If we could gain a fuller knowledge of angels, might we perhaps be more ready to receive the blessings they impart?
