Sometimes one is unaware of the far-reaching effect of a firm stand for the truth as presented in Christian Science. A proof of this occurred in our family many years ago and has encouraged me to speak to others of Christian Science when the opportunity arises.
My brother and I were involved in a motoring accident. One of his legs was very badly smashed between the knee and ankle. He was picked up by a passing doctor and taken to a hospital a few miles away. This doctor told me afterward that he did not expect my brother to survive, and at the hospital the surgeon said the leg must be amputated at once because that was the only hope of saving his life.
