Since the printing of a testimony in a 1947 Sentinel, I Have experienced several outstanding physical healings. These healings reinforced an already growing conviction of the healing efficacy of Christian Science and the fact that this Christ Science is the only way of Life for me.

I was healed of a painful case of bursitis. Due to my employment at that time, this condition had been diagnosed and X-rayed by a physician, who claimed my arm would become useless. These predictions seemed preposterous to me, since I had many home interests and duties, which always, and still do, require great activity. After I had had a sleepless night, the assurance of a Christian Science practitioner, "God does not want you to be in pain," finally penetrated my thinking, and the pain stopped. I was healed.

Early one morning I injured my foot. There were two gashes, and it was difficult for me to get around. Help was requested of a dear friend, a practitioner. I had been engaged to start work in The Christian Science Publishing Society in Boston. It was humiliating to hobble to work in such a condition. However, no one referred to it. Rather, I felt the support of my co-workers, as well as of my family and the practitioner. One of the gashes began to swell alarmingly. This statement of Truth from Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy was earnestly held to (p. 463): "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive." There seemed to be something inside the swelling. This proved to be several pieces of wood that had been embedded in my foot. They were removed through Truth's operation. After this my foot returned to normal.
