Through the study of Christian Science many business problems...
Through the study of Christian Science many business problems have been eliminated for me. One in particular was during the depression years, when I found myself without work. Praying for light on the problem of supply with the help of a Christian Science practitioner, I soon was employed by a company with a fine reputation. Over the years this has proven to be my right place and has been a very rewarding experience.
Mrs. Eddy writes in Science and Health (p. 406), "Resist evil— error of every sort—and it will flee from you." This resistance is not the use of human willpower but the acknowledgment of divine power. The spiritual understanding of this statement healed me over thirty-five years ago of the smoking habit. I have never had any desire since that period to return to the habit. Freedom from smoking opened the door to greater moral and spiritual growth and laid the groundwork for Christian Science class instruction, the benefits from which have been beyond comprehension. Gratitude for this and also for unbroken attendance at association meetings has meant much to me over the years. I am grateful for the protection afforded through the study of the Christian Science Quarterly Bible Lessons, and I have not had many physical problems to meet.
At one time while my wife and I were looking at a new house, I fell down some unlighted stairs to the basement, injuring my head. My first thought was to realize that there were no accidents in divine Mind. When I got up, my forehead was bleeding and badly cut. This was covered with a tissue, and by the time we arrived home the bleeding had stopped. Within a very short period I was completely healed, and there was no disfiguration. How grateful we can be for this instantaneous help that is ever available to us when we simply change our thinking and reach out to divine Mind!
