A little over three years ago, when I came into church, the faces...
A little over three years ago, when I came into church, the faces of the ushers standing at the front of the aisles were blurred. I wondered what I was thinking to cause it. Two or three Sundays later, as I came into church, I was impelled to take off my glasses, which I had worn for more than fifteen years. Then the faces of the ushers were clear and normal, and when the Readers came in, their faces were clear, too. I found that the television pictures were clearer without my glasses, and I did not need them when driving the car. I felt sure the good results had come about from my Christian Science study and prayer to understand the unreality of limitations of age.
Last year I received a notice from the traffic department of our state that I must take an eye test for driving the car. There was also a medical test to be taken. I asked our Assistant Christian Science Committee on Publication if we Christian Scientists had to take these tests. He said Yes. On the appointed day I went to the police department for the eye test. I did not wear my glasses, but I read easily and quickly all the signs, letters, and numbers they asked me to. One of the men conducting the test said, "Don't you need to wear glasses at all for driving?" I replied, "No, I don't." "Well," he said, "that is wonderful."
Before I went to the doctor for his test, I took two or three days to do additional prayerful Christian Science study and work to know that only harmony could be found, because in my true nature I was God's spiritual idea. When I entered the doctor's office, I gave him the card the traffic department gave me for him to fill out. After finishing the test he put a lot of check marks on the card, so I asked, "What are all the check marks for? Is everything all right?" He answered Yes. So again I expressed great gratitude to God.
