Christian Science has been a constant source of guidance and protection for me and mine. I had the privilege of attending the Christian Science Sunday School from the time I was two years old until my twentieth birthday. Now our children have the same opportunity.

For several years I experienced a great deal of pain in my back and shoulders whenever I would iron, vacuum, or do any work that was the least bit strenuous. One afternoon when I was out in the garden pulling weeds, the pain seemed so severe that I thought I would have to go into the house and lie down. I knew it was right to pull weeds out of our garden, just as we must pluck out any suggestions of lack, sickness, envy, hatred, or any other erroneous thoughts we might be entertaining. With this in mind I continued pulling weeds.

A Christian Science lecture I had heard the previous week came to my thought. The lecturer had spoken of the importance of the Lord's Prayer and its healing message. I started repeating the Lord's Prayer, giving each line much prayerful attention. Before I had finished the prayer, all the pain had disappeared and I was completely free. This has been over nine years ago, and the healing has been permanent.
