Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward. For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise (Hebr. 10:35, 36)

Phillips translates this: "Don't throw away your trust now—it carries with it a rich reward in the world to come. Patient endurance is what you need if, after doing God's will, you are to receive what he has promised." Hear the word of the Lord, ye children of Israel: for the Lord hath a controversy with the inhabitants of the land, because there is no truth, nor mercy, nor knowledge of God in the land (Hos. 4:1)

Phillips has: "Now hear what the Lord says, you people of Israel, For the Lord has a quarrel with the inhabitants of the land! There is no honesty nor compassion nor knowledge of God"; while the Revised Standard Version has: "Hear the word of the Lord, O people of Israel; for the Lord has a controversy with the inhabitants of the land. There is no faithfulness or kindness, and no knowledge of God in the land." Mine eyes fail with looking upward: O Lord, I am oppressed; undertake for me (Isa. 38:14)
