Government by Principle
In praying to heal any inharmonious situation, whether it is a sick body, a sick government, or a sick world, students of Christian Science are taught to look away from the material sense testimony to the spiritual reality. They should no more hold in thought a sick government or world to be healed than a sick body. Such thinking would add to the problem rather than be its solution.
One should endeavor to see beyond the mortal illusion of governments and peoples in conflict to the kingdom of heaven, where all true being is harmoniously governed by divine Principle, Love. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy defines "heaven" as "harmony; the reign of Spirit; government by divine Principle; spirituality; bliss; the atmosphere of Soul." Science and Health, p. 587;
In working prayerfully to understand that divine Principle is governing, we always start with the premise of one perfect creator, Mind, universally reflected by man. This Mind is continuously expressing through man its qualities of wisdom and order, integrity, love, and harmony. Realization of this fact has the effect of bringing to light more of the harmonious order that already exists.
