A profound sense of gratitude prompts this testimony. My daughter and I have experienced convincing proofs of God's protection and care since we have been studying Christian Science. A dislocated shoulder was healed in a matter of a few hours. The necessity for medical injections for an allergy has been done away with. So-called childhood diseases, mumps, and measles have been healed quickly and with minimal discomfort. I was healed of the smoking habit of twenty-three years' duration. When the healing took place, I was smoking three packages of cigarettes a day.

However, the greatest growth and most wonderful experience so far is the beautiful healing of sorrow and loss over the passing of my mother, who had been very close to me. I sincerely hope this will be helpful to those who may be going through a similar experience.

The sense of sorrow was overcome almost before it began. Through the help of a devoted Christian Science practitioner I realized my mother had but passed from my human sight. Understanding that Life is eternal, I saw that she was not dead but had gone on to a new experience and so I should not mourn. If I did, would I truly love? This explanation helped my daughter (she was ten at the time) realize the eternality of life. So we began rejoicing for the further unfoldment our loved one would gain in her continuing knowledge and understanding of God.
