Sunny's Shelter
[For children]
Sunny, the ginger cat had a new home. It was quite a distance from his old one, past a busy highway and over some hills.
The Friendlys, the family that took care of Sunny, were very happy there. Sunny seemed happy too. But he began to disappear occasionally, and was found again and again around the garden of the old house, even after a new family began to live there.
The Friendlys would bring Sunny home, and he would stay quite contentedly for a week or two. Then, one September morning, he disappeared again. The Friendlys went back many times to the old house, calling and calling, but Sunny was not to be found. Kind neighbors watched for him, too, but no one could give any news.
