I would like to tell of a healing I experienced only last year.

I had had a very uncomfortable feeling in my abdomen for some time before taking an extended trip for about ten days, but neglected to know the truth for myself until the evening I arrived home, when I was stricken with excruciating pain. My wife called our two daughters, neither of whom is a Christian Scientist, who came to try to help me through the night and then insisted on taking me to a local hospital early the next morning.

I was under a doctor's care at the hospital for five days. Then he told me that his X rays showed that I had a block of the upper intestine, and that he would have to operate the following morning. When I refused to submit to an operation, he told me that when his treatment was discontinued I would find myself in worse pain than when I came into the hospital, that I would be walking into a tiger's cage if I insisted on going home. My son, who is a good Christian Scientist, came to see me. Both he and I insisted on my release, which the doctor reluctantly granted after predicting dire results. These results did not materialize, however, for instead of walking into a tiger's cage, I felt I walked into the arms of divine Love.
