Healing Through Unselfed Love
Love is the essential quality in healing. To bless and heal our neighbor, we need to know more of the allness of God, divine Love, and demonstrate His presence and power. We need to put off a limited material sense of ourselves and others and strive to see the real man whom God made.
We should be alert to every opportunity to bless those we meet. We should not give metaphysical treatments without permission, but we can always deny the belief of disease and inharmony, when it appears, with the truth that divine Love never made it. And we can keep our spiritual concept of man pure and loving so that our scientific thinking will permeate and bless our surroundings. We should always have confidence that unselfed love heals because it has the full support of divine Love, which it reflects.
Supreme practicality characterized the work of Christ Jesus in his ministry of love. Christ Jesus was a realist, not a theorist who merely talked to those in need. He healed them! When ten men afflicted with leprosy appealed to him, he healed them. When five thousand were in need of food, he fed them. Jesus spent much time in earnest prayer; he communed with divine Love, thus sustaining his own spiritual sense and lifting the standard of thought of those in need. His consciousness of the Christ, Truth, awakened people from many errors of material sense to the power of spiritual understanding and love.
