Sue sat cross-legged on her bed with Tiger, her cat, curled up beside her. She looked out the window and saw her favorite star twinkling brightly in the sky. She sighed contentedly, for she knew that soon Mother would come in to hear her prayers and kiss her good night. Then they would talk for a while about God.
Just then Mother came in.
"All ready?" she asked, sitting on the edge of the bed. Sue popped under the covers, and together she and Mother said their prayers. When they had finished, Sue petted Tiger thoughtfully.
