I would like to express my gratitude for the correct and practical understanding of God revealed to mankind through Christian Science. I am grateful to have been raised in a home where Christian Science was the only physician and counselor.

Once, as a child, I was protected from harm when I was struck by a fast-moving automobile. Realizing that the car was upon me, I focused my thought completely on the first lines of a prayer given by Mrs. Eddy to the little children, "Father-Mother God, Loving me." The prayer reads in full (Poems, p. 69),
