Christian Science Church Center
PROGRESS REPORT No. 27
The Church Center will bring more than a new look to headquarters. In addition to being a visually striking group of buildings, the Center will provide working facilities in keeping with advanced technology and organizational methods.
In preparation for the move to more efficient offices, many functions at headquarters are undergoing review.
Communications and information activities, like messenger and mail service, printing and duplicating, and computer services, have been fragmented among different departments for years. A major reason for this decentralized arrangement is that church offices, because of growing activities, are spread out in seven old buildings. This hampers effective coordination and slows the work flow. These and a number of other activities are therefore being centralized and streamlined in preparation for being housed in modern facilities.
