For many years our family has enjoyed the blessings received from the study of Christian Science. We have had many healings, including healings of colds, influenza, migraine, nausea.

Many times we have been helped by alert and devoted Christian Science practitioners, and for their loving-kindness I am ever grateful. Several of our healings have been sources of constant inspiration to me, but there is one that I would like to relate here because as a result of it I felt as one of those spoken of in Isaiah (9:2): "The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them hath the light shined."

The discovery of a lump in one breast accompanied by much pain in that area filled me with fear. Humbly I put myself in God's care, determining to study our textbooks, the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, in order to understand God and to see the light. Twice I had help from practitioners, and my husband supported me in Science throughout this entire experience. I knew that, as Mrs. Eddy says (Science and Health, p. 505), "Spirit imparts the understanding which uplifts consciousness and leads into all truth." I endeavored to live the command found in Romans (12:2), "Be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God."
