In the resurrection and ascension, Jesus showed that the understanding of man as Christian Science reveals him is able to overcome every material condition and evil presentation. Two recent healings, small in physical aspect but tremendous in their spiritual promise, were proof to me that everyone can utilize this God-given ability.

The first was an inflamed and painful big toe. I thought at first that I would have to stop wearing my shoe. Although the condition was frightening and threatened to spread, it was healed quickly and permanently. The second was a painful sore that appeared on my body. At first I was alarmed and wondered where it came from and what it was. Then I realized this truth: God is the only cause and creator, and all that He made is good. Therefore my need was to deny the reality of this condition. I did, and it completely disappeared.

My early Christian Science Sunday School training gave me my ready response to these conditions. I knew that to accept their reality was to agree to endure them, while to immediately reject them was the right way to destroy them. In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy says (p. 463), "A spiritual idea has not a single element of error, and this truth removes properly whatever is offensive."
