Through the kindness of a neighbor I was first introduced to Christian Science. I had been a very sick woman for many years. Seeing my suffering, she recommended that I get treatment from a Christian Science practitioner, and also that I get the textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, and study it. I took her advice, and within a few weeks I had my healing.

Recently, quite unexpectedly, I happened to meet one of my former doctors, who had treated me for many years without success. He had told me in 1964 that there was little or nothing that could be done for my condition. As he passed me, he nodded. I could see that he was not quite sure who I was, so I said, "You don't seem to recognize me anymore, doctor."

With that, he stared hard and then came over and shook hands with me and said, "Sorry, but I would never have recognized you. You've changed; you look so different! You are fuller in the face! what's been going on?"
