For over thirty years I had been a sufferer from severe arthritis. It had developed into chronic acute spondylitis that resulted in sciatica and neuritis. Calcification of the lower lumber had set in. The spine had become drawn to one side. My legs were always heavy. I tired easily, and I had to wear a surgical jacket with heavy steel stays constantly.

After reading medical books I found that there was no medical cure for my condition. I gave up reliance on material medicine. By reading good books I improved my mind, and spirituality raised my hopes so that when I read the words "mental spiritual healing" in a Christian Science Reading Room window, I knew that was what I had been looking for.

The Reading Room attendant convinced me that I should consult a Christian Science practitioner. I did obtain the service of a practitioner. Soon after Christian Science treatment started, I was able to walk more easily. The heaviness was gone from my feet. Gradually my back straightened and became stronger. I was able to discard the surgical jacket.
