Words of Current Interest

The words in this issue are related to the Lesson-Sermon in the CHRISTIAN SCIENCE QUARTERLY designated to be read in Christian Science churches on August 25, 1968.

Unto you, O men, I call; and my voice is to the sons of man (Prov. 8:4)

The word translated "men" is 'ishim, that is, men as distinguished from women; while "man" represents 'adam (meaning "mankind" or "the human race"). In Hebrew idiom the phrase "sons of man" is equivalent to mankind in general.
