PATIENT GOD
Self-imprisoned
within the narrow orbit
of physical sense,
the unperceptive
human thought,
devoid of spiritual seeing.
gropes in the dark abyss
of matter,
searching for a star.
While patient God,
the source of all-pervading
light and being,
waits within the radiant realm
of consciousness
to illumine and uplift
both heart and mind
of slow, resisting
humankind.
