Enlarging Our Concept
A small child went home from school one day and began to tell her mother what she had learned in arithmetic. She said, "If I have three oranges and you give me two, I have five."
Her mother responded, "And if you have four bananas and I give you one, how many have you?"
The child was baffled over this question and replied, "Oh, we haven't taken bananas yet."
