What a privilege it is to serve God through church and its activities!...

What a privilege it is to serve God through church and its activities! In the words of the hymn, "My heart is singing: I have found the way" (Christian Science Hymnal, No. 64). Through work in a Christian Science branch church and daily study of the Lesson-Sermon, I have found great joy and a better understanding of Christian Science. Through the growing understanding of God and of man's relationship to Him, I have experienced many healings and much protection and guidance, and I am exceedingly grateful.

Some years ago I awoke and found it very difficult to walk. No matter what shoes I put on, or even if I went barefooted, I was able to hobble only with extreme pain. I purchased a pair of shoes having more support than I was accustomed to and managed to get around to do my daily chores. All the while I kept holding to the truth that this physical manifestation was not true, not a part of me, and that man as the reflection of God was harmonious and free from pain. I remembered the words of the Psalmist, "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path" (Ps. 119:105). I prayed that this light would help me to see the correct way to go. Within a few days I was able to walk without pain, and shortly after that was again free to walk barefooted or wear any shoes, including ones with high heels. This happened about six years ago, and although I always wear shoes with little support, the problem has never returned. The healing was complete.

I am very grateful for Mrs. Eddy's devotion and perseverance in bringing Christian Science to the world, and I am very happy that I have had the privilege of experiencing its blessings.
