No Mixture of Methods

Christ Jesus healed the sick without drugs. There is no doubt about the success of his method. And we know it was a method rather than a special dispensation of spiritual power because he said, "He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do." John 14:12; A method needs only to be understood in order for it to be usable and successful.

To learn the method of healing that Jesus practiced, one must examine its fundamentals and obey its rules. He taught that God, or Spirit, is the basis of spiritual healing, in fact, the only healer. He said plainly, "The Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works." v. 10; The Saviour did not limit God in his experience by turning to material means for healing but proved that pure Spirit, which is divine Mind, is all that is needed even for overcoming the most vicious types of sickness.

The rules that Jesus set forth, rules that prepare one for demonstrating the divine power that heals, are plentiful in his teachings: allegiance to the truth of God's fatherhood and of man's perfection as His son, moral uprightness, spiritual perception, dedication, and the spirit of unselfed love. These spiritually mental states are essential to the handling of materially mental states called sin and sickness.
