In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy, part of Article VIII, Section 24, reads: "Testimony in regard to the healing of the sick is highly important. More than a mere rehearsal of blessings, it scales the pinnacle of praise and illustrates the demonstration of Christ, 'who healeth all thy diseases' (Psalm 103:3)." Thus I wish to thank God through the periodicals not only for the healing of sickness but for the healing of character traits as well.

Many years before my birth my father was healed through Christian Science of B right's disease in the last stages after the doctors had sent him home to await death. Although my father did not pursue the study of Christian Science even after this beautiful healing, my mother was determined to know what had healed him; and she began an earnest study of Christian Science. Later she was a Christian Science practitioner for forty years.

I used to delight in stating that I was born in Christian Science, until it was pointed out to me that birth in Christian Science comes only through rebirth out of matter into Spirit, and that such rebirth comes only with regeneration of thought, desire, and purpose.
