The Lord will perfect that which concerneth me (Ps. 138:8)

As often, the Hebrew phrase is highly condensed, and the words "that which" have been added by the translators. The verb gamar (perfect) means more exactly "end, complete, accomplish," or "fulfill," while the term rendered "concerneth me" means "on my behalf." One could translate, "The Lord will bring fulfillment on my behalf."

Them which are asleep (I Thess. 4:13)
