Christian Science Church Center

PROGRESS REPORT NO. 22

"In larger and larger throngs they presented themselves at the doors." The Mother Church Extension, p. 5; With these words Margaret Williamson, in her book The Mother Church Extension, tells why it became necessary to plan for a great new Extension only a few years after the original edifice of The Mother Church was completed.

Today, in a different but equally urgent way, the world at our doorstep demands that as Christian Scientists we build higher, extend our outreach, rise to the dimension of new challenges and opportunities.

Basically this continued unfoldment of Church takes place in individual lives. But it is aptly symbolized by the new Christian Science Church Center, designed not merely to draw people to Boston but to take Church to the world.
