The Song of the Morning Stars

Mrs. Eddy writes: "When the Lawgiver was the only law of creation, freedom reigned, and was the heritage of man; but this freedom was the moral power of good, not of evil: it was divine Science, in which God is supreme, and the only law of being. In this eternal harmony of Science, man is not fallen: he is governed in the same rhythm that the Scripture describes, when 'the morning stars sang together, and all the sons of God shouted for joy.' " Miscellaneous Writings, p. 259;

All through the ages and everywhere mankind have expressed themselves in song. Joy in one's thought often finds spontaneous expression in song. When thought touches the wonderful reality of being and a truth unfolds as in clear morning light, one hears the song of primeval joy and joins in with it. It becomes a grand chorus of man in perfect unison and rhythm with the universe.

The first mandate which swept the universe when the revelation of creation was appearing was, "Let there be light." Gen. 1:3; The Hebrew word "light"' as used in this verse means luminary in every sense of the word, including happiness. "Let there be light" and happiness—this was the glorious mandate of the Mind that included and brought everything into being.
