Over thirty years ago a friend introduced Christian Science to me by leaving copies of The Christian Science Journal, the Christian Science Sentinel, and The Christian Science Monitor at my home. This literature lay in my magazine stand for approximately two years. Several times while dusting I started to discard it because I did not like to read. But each time it took its place back in the stand.
Then there came a time when I was ill with a very painful postnatal condition and my physician told me a major operation was all that could save me. I remembered two friends who were Christian Scientists and the beautiful religion they had told me about. I asked one friend to take me to a practitioner. She did that afternoon. And, thanks to our Father-Mother God, the practitioner took me into her heart with two requirements. First, I must study the Christian Science Quarterly Lesson-Sermon daily. Secondly, I must attend church regularly. This I promised. The reading was a struggle, but I stayed with it. In two weeks' time I was completely healed. Since this healing, Christian Science has met my every need. Certainly it has blessed me and mine.
Broken bones have been set by Christian Science treatment alone. So-called childhood diseases have been healed quickly. One son was healed of a hernia. He would not talk with women practitioners, and although several times this difficulty seemed healed, it recurred. Then one day I asked him if he would talk to his Sunday School teacher, a man. He consented to this. We called the teacher and they talked. He was healed in two treatments. Three months later he passed the Air Force physical examination.
