I had to go through deep waters before beginning to study Christian Science over thirty years ago. I became very ill, grew worse every day, and was semiconscious most of the time. For two months doctors and a nurse worked over me, baffled by the condition, which was a complication of emphysema, nephritis, and phlebitis.

At this opportune time a kind neighbor asked us if we would try Christian Science. We were willing to try anything, so my family asked a practitioner to give me treatment. I immediately began to regain my senses, to see the light of Truth, and to feel that I would recover. Very soon I could walk again, for I knew that Love was guiding me. Isaiah gives us God's promise (Isa. 41:10), "I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness." The healing was complete.

Several years later I was in a business whose employees were required by state law to have a physical examination once a year. In obedience to the law I had a physician examine me. Right away he said my tonsils were diseased and would have to come out.
