About forty years ago Christian Science was presented to my mother by a friend. My mother had been suffering from a nervous breakdown and had exhausted the skill of many physicians. The complete healing of this condition through the study of Science finally did come about. During this time I became interested in the religion. We have had many healings in our family over the years since.

The healing I should like to relate took place a number of years ago while my husband was away in the service. One of our children was about a year old. I was awakened during the night with her crying, and I tried my best to comfort her. But the only way I could keep her quiet was to carry her around. I did this until morning, declaring all the truths I could recall of God and man's relation to Him as His child. Not knowing what the difficulty was, I became very fearful.

When members of my family came over in the afternoon, the child hadn't eaten or slept and still wanted to be held. When I was asked if I had called a practitioner for help, I replied that I hadn't been able to put the child down long enough to use the phone. My mother then took the baby while I telephoned a practitioner. After speaking with the practitioner for about ten minutes, I found that the child had been put in her bed and was fast asleep. She slept from that time until early the next morning, when she awakened happy as usual. It was then that I discovered there had been an abscessed condition.
