A Christmas Card from Mrs. Eddy

How simply the Gospel according to St. Luke unfolds the Christmas story! Here we may read how God's angel message reached the humble thought of the shepherds and announced to them the birth of Christ Jesus. It was indeed "tidings of great joy,... to all people." Luke 2:10;

The quiet scene at Bethlehem, centuries ago, should set the pattern for our era. Christmas deserves to be celebrated for what it really is and not be turned into a commercial carnival.

The true spirit of Christmas is to be found in outgoing love. It is seen in the tender glance, the friendly smile, the warm handshake, and in quiet, unselfish service to others. He whose nativity we are celebrating said, "By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another." John 13:35;
