I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the love and protection...

I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the love and protection that have come into my life through an understanding: of the ever-presence of the infinite divine Mind, God, gained through the study of Christian Science.

Some years ago, in reading and studying our textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, I was greatly impressed by a statement on page 424, "Accidents are unknown to God, or immortal Mind, and we must leave the mortal basis of belief and unite with the one Mind, in order to change the notion of chance to the proper sense of God's unerring direction and thus bring out harmony."

At that time I was employed as an engineer in charge of a high voltage electrical generating plant, which had nine high pressure steam boilers and the necessary equipment. The insurance company had classified me as a hazardous risk and was therefore reluctant to insure me except at a very high premium. But this statement from our textbook had become so clear to me that I canceled the accident insurance policy, which had finally been obtained, and decided to depend entirely on God's protecting care.
